Embarkation Details: Embarked Overseas on

21 December 1914 with 5th  Light Horse Regiment, A Squadron at Sydney, NSW on Ship A34 "Persic".

Cause of Death: Died of Wounds at the 44th Casualty Clearing Station, France on

8 August 1916 while serving with 47th  Battalion at the age of 28 years.

Burial place: Puchevillers British Cemetery, France, Portion II, Row E, Grave No. 3.

Next of Kin:  Sister, A. Classen care of Ted Classen, Hairdresser, Mackay, QLD.

Religion: Church of England.
