Born: 27 June 1896 at Charters Towers, QLD, Australia.

Father: James Francis CAMPBELL.

Mother: Agnes Ferguson ALLAN.

Marital Status: Single.

Education: Richmond Hill State School, Charters Towers, QLD.

Occupation: Apprentice Engineer.

 

Service and Enlistment Details

Enlisted on 11 April 1915 at Liverpool, NSW.

Address at Enlistment: Palms Estate, Mackay, QLD.

Embarkation Details: Embarked Overseas on

25 June 1915 with 20th  Battalion, A Company at Sydney, NSW on Ship H.M.A.T. A35 "Berrima".

Cause of Death: Died of Wounds (Gunshot wounds to head and back) at 4th General Hospital, Pozieres, France on 14 August 1916 while serving with 20th  Battalion at the age of 20 years.

Burial place: Etaples Military Cemetery, France, Portion IX, Row E, Grave No. 4.

Next of Kin:  Father, James Francis Campbell, Palms Estate, Mackay, QLD.

Religion: Presbyterian.
