Embarkation Details: Embarked Overseas on 19 October 1914 with 6th  Battalion, G Company at Melbourne, VIC on Ship H.M.A.T. A20 "Hororata".

Cause of Death: Killed in Action on

11 November 1916 while serving with

6th  Battalion at Bapaume, France at the age of  29 years.

Burial place: Bancourt British Cemetery, France, Portion IX, Row M, Grave No 13.

Next of Kin:  Wife, Mrs. Mary Clarke, Gregory Street, Mackay, QLD.

Religion: Presbyterian.
