3 January 1916 with 9th  Battalion,

13th  Reinforcements at Brisbane, QLD on

Ship H.M.A.T. A55 "Kyarra".

Cause of Death: Killed in Action on 23 July 1916 while serving with 9th  Battalion at Pozieres, France at the age of 35 years.

Burial place or Memorial: No known grave.

Next of Kin:  Wife, Mrs. M. E. Donald, Sarina, Mackay, QLD.

Religion: Presbyterian.
