Born: abt. 1884 at Narrenderra, NSW, Australia.

Father: Thomas FARRELL.

Mother: Johanna ?

Marital Status: Single

Education: Public School, NSW.

Occupation: Bridge Labourer.

 

Service and Enlistment Details

Enlisted on 30 August 1915 at Rockhampton, QLD.

Address at Enlistment: Railway Department, Mackay, QLD.

Embarkation Details: Embarked Overseas on

3 January 1916 with 26th  Battalion,

8th  Reinforcements at Brisbane, QLD on Ship H.M.A.T. A55 "Kyarra".

Cause of Death: Killed in Action on

29 October  1917 while serving with 26th  Battalion at Ypres, Belgium at the age of 33 years.

Burial place: Ypres Reservoir Cemetery, Belgium, Portion I, Row I, Grave No. 58.

Next of Kin:  Father, Thomas Farrell, Wanimberal, Gosford, NSW.

Religion: Roman Catholic.

Notes:

Michaelís brother John also served in the first AIF  with the 3rd Battalion. He died of wounds on 7 June 1917.
