Occupation: Labourer.

 

Service and Enlistment Details

Enlisted on 25 November 1915 at Townsville, QLD.

Address at Enlistment: Townsville, QLD.

Embarkation Details: Embarked Overseas on

31 March 1916 with 15th  Battalion,

16th  Reinforcements at Sydney, NSW, on

Ship H.M.A.T. A16 " Star of Victoria".

Cause of Death: Killed in Action on 1 July 1917 while serving with 15th  Battalion at Ploegsteert Wood, Belgium at the age of 43 years.

Burial place: Messines Ridge British Cemetery, Mesen, Belgium; Portion IV, Row D,

Grave No. 50.

Next of Kin:  Mother, Mrs. M. Tweedie, Marl Street, Castle Douglas, Kircudbrightshire, Scotland.
