History:  The Honour Board was originally located in the Pleystowe School of Arts Hall in the grounds of Pleystowe Sugar Mill.  The School of Arts hall was demolished in 2001. The Board was restored in 2005 and now holds a place of honour in the offices of Mackay Sugar at Pleystowe Mill. The acronym P.K.C. Inc. stands for the Pleystowe Knitting Circle Incorporated. These were a group of local women, mothers wives, daughters etc on which the Pleystowe Patriotic and Welfare Committee was formed in 1943. The Committee arranged for the honour board as well as the planting of nine trees for the Pleystowe Memorial Avenue.
